The story

From Capitol Hill to the corner office of a Texas bank.

I learned service the old-fashioned way, face to face. Eight years in logistics taught me that reliability is the whole job: show up, follow through, earn the next call.

In 2009 I took that mindset to Washington, DC, supporting Congressional offices for the U.S. House of Representatives. When your users are Members of Congress and their staff, "the system is down" is not an acceptable answer. I rose from desktop support to managing the entire hardware support team - hiring, coaching, and merging two very different company cultures into one team that clients trusted by name.

In 2017 I came home to Texas and joined Vista Bank, where I've spent eight years climbing from IT Specialist to Vice President of IT Administration. Today I own the bank's IT strategy and daily operations — infrastructure, security partnership, regulatory readiness, vendor contracts, budgets, and the systems migrations that make mergers and acquisitions land without downtime. I completed the Texas Tech School of Banking certificate in 2025, because good bank technology starts with understanding banking.

What people say

Don't take my word for it.

We entered into this contract because of Mr. Butts' reputation, but maintained our contract due to Mr. Butts' superior service on all benchmarks. Our Member of Congress, nor I, could give a stronger recommendation.

Chief of Staff, U.S. House of Representatives

In my 17 years in business, Randy is the hardest-working, most disciplined employee I have ever had. He was equally valued by our clients, whose trust he earned with his easygoing style and timely, accurate response.

CEO, DexteraNet

Randy is a top performer in all aspects of his career. His technical knowledge and ability to put customers at ease is unparalleled. Randy managed to build a team out of groups from two very different cultures while leading them to perform at the highest levels.

Chief Operating Officer, iConstituent

How we can work together

Three ways to put me to work.

Fractional IT leadership

Part-time IT direction for community banks and small businesses that need executive-level technology judgment without a full-time hire.
